Increase participant retention with a better payout experience
Build participant payments into your platform. GiveCard issues reloadable physical and virtual Visa cards and sends bank transfers, triggered by what participants do in your software. GiveCard's in-house team handles support for participants.

Participants shouldn't wait to get paid
When a payment depends on someone checking completions and sending money by hand, participants wait. That wait becomes part of how they experience the study.
With GiveCard, payments go out from inside the software your customers already use, and participants can get access to funds within seconds.

How organizations are using GiveCard
How the University of Chicago pays survey participants in seconds
At Chapin Hall, a policy research institute at the University of Chicago, staff used to check REDCap survey completions daily, verify eligibility, and trigger each payment by hand. GiveCard built a direct integration with REDCap. When a participant completes their monthly survey, the integration detects the submission and loads funds to their card, with no admin action needed. Participants receive their payments within seconds, and the research team saves hours of admin work each week.
“GiveCard has allowed us to automate survey payment for survey completion, ensuring our participants get paid in a timely manner for their contributions to research. This is extremely valuable when working with vulnerable populations who may rely on research incentives for basic needs. Prioritizing timely payment is not only person-centered, but ethical.”
Dr. Sara Semborski, University of Chicago
Built for the questions a study team will ask
Participant data
GiveCard does not require personally identifiable information from recipients. It needs an email address for a virtual card, a mailing address for a physical card, or bank details verified through GiveCard Intake for a bank transfer.
Attach your own identifiers, such as a study or patient ID, to cards and to transaction events.
Money and compliance
Cards are issued by Sutton Bank, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Funds are FDIC insured up to the standard limit.
24/7 fraud monitoring, and GiveCard handles disputes end to end.
The 1099 Tax Compliance Suite automates W-9 collection, 1099 creation, and e-filing when participants pass IRS reporting thresholds.

Build participant payments on GiveCard's API
With GiveCard's API suite, you can trigger payments from events in your platform, show cards inside your product in iframes, and get transaction-level spend data by webhook in real time. If your customers run studies in REDCap, GiveCard's REDCap integration can pay participants when they complete a survey.
