As one of DC’s oldest and most trusted domestic violence shelters, My Sister’s Place (MSP) needed a way to support hundreds of survivors and their children with financial resources—while managing multiple housing and recovery programs with limited technical capacity. They needed a system that was secure, auditable, and easy to manage without any engineering work.

MSP offers a full continuum of care—from emergency housing to long-term stability—and financial empowerment is a critical part of that journey. With a small but deeply committed team, they needed a single, reliable platform to:

The Solution

MSP manages all of their financial assistance operations through the GiveCard Dashboard:

• Bulk Ordering & Distribution
  Staff order cards in bulk and distribute them to survivors directly—either in-person during case management appointments or by mail—managing everything in one place.
  
• Program Tagging & Data Tracking
  MSP uses GiveCard’s Programs feature to manage multiple programs within the same dashboard (like emergency housing vs. transitional support), tagging each card and load record for clean reporting.
  
• Recurring Support via Auto-Load
  With GiveCard’s Auto-Load functionality, MSP sets up recurring monthly funds for survivors, ensuring payments always arrive on time, removing manual work and ensuring consistent support is accessible to their recipients.

  Using the Reporting tab, MSP creates and exports detailed reports to track funds issued, recipients supported, and programs impacted—critical for both internal audits and grant reporting.
