What is the Giving Tree GiveCard®?
The GiveCard is a prepaid Visa gift card designed for people like you, who want to make a difference. What makes the GiveCard special is that $5 of the card's value is set aside for the recipient to donate to a cause of their choice, and they spend the rest to buy exactly what they want. The purchaser of the GiveCard actually gives two valuable gifts in one; cash value to spend and a meaningful donation to a charity of choice.
GiveCards are currently purchased and activated online at our website (will be in retail stores in 2010!). When the card is activated, the recipient of the card searches a database of over 5,000 registered non-profits, such as The American Red Cross and The Humane Society, and chooses which charity gets the donation. During the online purchasing process, there are lots of options to make the GiveCard very personal, such as adding the recipient's name and a message on the card, and even creating a Video eCard to make it feel like you are giving them the gift in person!
- Pre-denominated Values: $25 to $250.

- Standard (Free): Cards arrive in 5 business days after purchase, individually shipped.
- Express 2 Day ($9.95): Cards arrive in 2 business days after purchase, multiple cards shipped together.
Tips for Using the Spend Value of Your Card:
- - Always have the cashier Use The CREDIT Option, NOT DEBIT when making purchases, even though this is a prepaid debit card. (It doesn't make sense to us either, it's just the way the networks are setup).
- - Gasoline purchases can't be done at the pump. Please take the card to the cashier.
